I got my start in WebGUI volunteering. At first, I sent in documentation patches, then I started helping with bug fixes and new development. Since perlDreamer Consulting went live fulltime, I haven't had a lot of time for doing any volunteering. Until tonight, that is.
Spurred on by some great posts on Modern Perl Books, I wrote some Test::Class tests for the Account system of WebGUI. In short order, I was able to write basic tests for new and canView for Account and many of the submodules. It was a ton of fun, and easy to do, too.
I usually spend some time every day helping people out in IRC, or doing some small bug fixes or doing something, but I really love testing.
And you're really good at it too!
Its awesome you take such good care of testing, you have inspired me to start making aotomated tests for my wobject.
Also awesome work on the WebGUI Developers Guide book. The first chapter (or one of the first?), having to do with creating automated tests.
Says a lot about webgui when one of the first chapters are about testing. Just awesome to see the effort put into creating a bugfree web engine.
I received my first home loans when I was very young and this helped my relatives a lot. Nevertheless, I need the student loan again.
